I’ll be performing a sound bath with vibrational instruments and electronics for this weekend retreat with Planetarium!
Planetarium: A Weekend of Deep Listening is happening from Friday, October 24th through Sunday, October 26th at The Omega Institute in Rhinebeck.
Over the course of three days we'll have experiences with Drumloop, who will perform live; Nowadays resident DJ and Sustain-Release founder, Aurora Halal, who will play the opening night's first deep listening set; Judith Grodowitz, a dancer and master Alexander Technique practicioner, who will lead a session for grounding and embodiment; Planetarium co-founder and resident DJ, Justin Carter, who will hold a long form deep listening session on Saturday night; frequent Planetarium collaborator Rena Anakwe, who will hold a sound bath on Saturday night; and new age/experimental godfather Laraaji, who, alongside his partner, Arji Oceananda, will send us home on Sunday morning with a laughter workshop.
The full schedule and information about everyone involved is here.
All amplified sound for the weekend will be supplied on an awe inspiring, custom system built by EM/IA. EM/IA is a partnership between Jeffrey W. Jackson and Dave Slagle, two music lovers with over fifty years of high fidelity experimentation and listening. On Saturday morning, we'll have a casual listening session where you can bring a record of your own to hear on the system and ask Jeffrey and Dave questions.
Beyond the experiences we have planned, there will also be ample time to enjoy the nature and facilities at Omega: canoeing and kayaking on the lake, exploring hiking trails, perusing the Ram Dass library, walking the labyrinth, or getting a treatment at their wellness center.
You can make a reservation to join us here. The program has tiered pricing. Select any tier that works for you. If those tiers are all out of your reach, drop a line and let us know what you can afford, and we will see what we can do. More info is down below about lodging and getting to and from Omega from NYC.
